Star of Cannel 5 The Hotel Inspector, Ruth and her husband David bought Hintlesham Hall in Suffolk as a restaurant and cookery school which over six years they turned into a 33 room hotel with an 18 hole golf course. Seven years later they bought the Fox and Goose Inn at Fressingfield, launching it as one of Britain’s first ever gastropubs. In 1999, Ruth and her husband bought the Crown and Castle Hotel in Orford which they have fully restored and run as a modern country house hotel.
Ruth was the star of the Channel 5 series The Hotel Inspector. She went on to present three series of the hugely successful Country House Rescue for Channel 4. Most recently she fronted Channel 4’s Ruth Watson Means Business.
Ruth has been food editor of the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine and she is the author of The Really Helpful Cookbook, The Slimming Book and Fat Girl Slim. Her cookbook Something for the Weekend is in its third edition.
