Professor Jonathan Stern is an internationally known specialist in natural gas issues worldwide, coving trade, regulation and security, utility policy, liberalisation and climate change issues. He also speaks on matters concerning electricity utilities, and energy and climate change issues in transition economies.
Professor Stern is Chairman of The British Institute Of Energy Economics and a member of the Board Of Advisors at The Institute For Energy, Law And Enterprise at the University Of Houston, USA. He is also Director of Gas Research at the Oxford Institute For Energy Studies (OIES), where his focus is on the future of gas supply in the CIS and the role of gas in the Producer/Consumer Dialogue.
Professor Stern founded the OIES Natural Gas Research Programme in 2003 and was its Director until 2011, when he became its Chairman and a Senior Research Fellow, going on to become a Distinguished Fellow in 2016.
