Linda was instrumental in awakening the public’s interest in home design through her appearances on BBC1’s Changing Rooms. Her six-year tenure with the show made her one of the best known interior designers in the UK. The programme was also a phenomenal international success in virtually every English speaking TV territory around the world.
Linda began her work in television as a set designer and was one of a group of people (including Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen) approached by the BBC in 1994 to work on Changing Rooms as one of the show's key designers. Whilst working on Changing Rooms, Linda also began co-presenting House Invaders, another successful BBC show that creates innovative interior designs on a shoestring budget.
Other TV presenting work includes With A Little Help From My Friends, Building the Dream and a daytime lifestyle series, Under Construction, all for ITV. She took part in the second series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! (ITV), in which she finished in third place, and also appeared on a celebrity edition of Come Dine with Me, finishing joint first.
Linda launched a more commercially focused career after leaving Changing Rooms, designing and advertising sofas for dfs and cabins for Thomson Holidays. She also brought out her own range of wallpaper for Crown.
Linda continues as a designer in both the private and corporate sectors and has been active in the publishing sector too, writing design books and a column for the weekend Daily Express magazine. Corporate work includes giving seminars on future trends in colour and design.
Linda is a perfect speaker on all matters concerning interior design and property refurbishment. Her engaging and cheerful personality also makes her an ideal choice for a range of Corporate functions, including Events Hosting, Product Launches, and Business Lunches.
