The daughter of world-renowned Scottish golfer Bernard Gallacher (see separate entry on our website), Kirsty is a sports journalist and television presenter who is particularly well known for her work at Sky Sports. Her insight, aptitude and presentation skills have seen her cover a diverse range of sporting events, including the Ryder Cup and Wimbledon, earning her a position as one of the UK's top sports reporters.
Aside from her work with Sky Sports, Kirsty has presented Gladiators (Sky1), alongside Ian Wright, The Games (Channel 4), and All StarCup for ITV1/ITV2. Other credits include presenting Lorraine for ITV1 on weekday mornings, BBC1’s holiday series Departure Lounge, reporting for Richard and Judy in their book club series, co-hosting Simply The Best for ITV, co-hosting The Laureus World Sports Awards in Lisbon for Channel Five, featuring alongside Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway for primetime ITV1, and hosting her own series for Sky One, including Kirsty’s Home Videos and TV Meltdown. In addition, Kirsty has presented live feeds for Sports Relief.
Kirsty's lighter side often shows itself during charity events, which in addition to Sports Relief, have included co-hosting Soccer Aid with Dermot O’Leary for ITV1 - a charity football match that pitted celebrities against legendary footballers.
Kirsty has also hosted her own sports and entertainment show for BBC Radio Five Live on Saturday mornings and has presented a weekly Wednesday evening Golf series for the station. Both shows saw her interviewing various luminaries from the sporting world whilst discussing the pressing issues of the day.
Kirsty enjoys taking part in a number of sporting activates herself, including swimming, sprinting, golf and tennis…..and now the equally physically-demanding activity of ballroom dancing, as she is a contestant in the 2015 series of BBC1's hugely popular Strictly Come Dancing, paired with professional dancer Brendan Cole.
Kirsty makes an ideal Awards Host or Conference Facilitator, and her knowledge of a wide range of sports means that she is a natural choice when it comes to Sports-themed Events.
