Interior designer Kelly Hoppen has a passion for creating unique living spaces - a passion that began in her teenage years when she was given the opportunity to design a family friend’s kitchen. This modest commission kick-started one of the most celebrated and extraordinary careers in the interior design industry.
As the proprietor of Kelly Hoppen Interiors, Kelly puts her stamp on the homes, yachts and jets of private clients, as well as select commercial projects the world over, including hotels, restaurants, offices and aircrafts. Her continuously evolving style is underpinned by a subtly coordinated fusion of East meets West, with clean lines and neutral tones, blended to achieve just the right balance of charming warmth and sumptuous opulence.
Recent projects include a collaboration with Pearl Motor Yachts and the design of the Lux Belle Mare hotel resort in Mauritius. Kelly has also designed for a number of celebrities, including David and Victoria Beckham, and Martin Shaw, who was one of her early clients. She has also partnered a select number of licensees to offer a range of home products, including fabrics, shutters, paints, scents, furniture, wallpaper, taps, prints and products, mainly through QVC UK.
Kelly's business acumen was brought into sharp focus in 2013 when she became one of the "Dragons" on BBC2's Dragons' Den, the hit TV series that offers advice - and sometimes partnerships - for a new generation of entrepreneurs. The role was perfect for Kelly, as she has long been a believer in fostering and nurturing younger talent. She is a proud ambassador for the Prince’s Trust and the Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise, and also for the Government’s GREAT campaign; Kelly also works with UK Trade & Investment, mentoring small and medium sized businesses.
Kelly is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards, including the Andrew Martin Interior Design Award, European Woman Of Achievement Award, Elle Decoration Award, Grazia Designer of the Year, and Natwest Everywoman Ambassador Award. She was made an MBE for her services to interior design in 2009.
