Kate Thornton is an English journalist and television presenter who is best known for hosting as the first three series (plus a celebrity special) of ITV's hit show, The X Factor. A talented and versatile broadcaster, she is also often featured in high profile daytime shows, including Loose Women and This Morning.

Kate's other TV presenting credits include Top Of The Pops, Holiday, Pop Idol Extra, The Brits, Comic Relief, The Royal Variety Performance, Britain Sings Christmas, Countdown To Midnight With Take That, Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, and live coverage of The Oscars (for Sky One).

In addition, Kate co-presented the first series of 71 Degrees North alongside Gethin Jones and narrated The Nation's Favourite Abba Song. She also presented A Night With Will Young in 2011 and guest presented six episodes of Lorraine in 2012.

Kate has also been busy on the radio, presenting Paper Cuts for BBC Radio 2. To date, four series have aired, with guests including Craig Revel Horwood, Patsy Kensit, Eamonn Holmes and Paul O'Grady, who all look back through their lives via newspaper headlines.

Kate is currently concentrating on developing her Internet business - specifically, working with a host of famous brands to bring cash back offers to customers.
