In a prestigious career spanning twenty five years, Julie Peasgood has been an accomplished actress, television presenter, author and voice over artist…..and more besides. She still has the youthful looks, vigour and enthusiasm she had when she left school to take the title role of Gaye Kingdom in ITV's Cherryripe And The Lugworm Digger, but with added warmth and wisdom.
Julie's subsequent TV career led to a number of well known character parts, including Fran Pearson in Brookside, Jo Steadman in Emmerdale and Jacqui Hudson in Hollyoaks. Other television series she has acted in include: First Born, September Song, Taggart, A Woman's Guide To Adultery, Carla Lane's Luv Doctors, The Bill, Holby City, Spender, Ruth Rendell's Simisola, This Year, Next Year, Survivors and Small World.
As a TV presenter, Julie won the Royal Television Society's TV Personality Of The Year Award in 2004 for her series Great Little Breaks. Other presenting credits include Bootsale Challenge, Loose Women, This Morning, Wish You Were Here, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Turf Wars and A Buyer's Guide To Spain.
Julie's career on the theatrical stage began in earnest when she joined the RSC for five years, during which time she played numerous roles, most memorably Tilda (Matilda) Price in Nicholas Nickleby. She was also in the production of Inadmissible Evidence at The Royal Court, and has also performed at The Old Vic, The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, and numerous West End theatres.
Julie is also a popular voice-over artist and has voiced several hundred television and radio commercials, becoming known as the Queen Of The Ad Voice Overs!
Julie's first book, The Greatest Sex Tips In The World, was launched at The London Book Fair in 2007 and went on to earn her Best Sex Writer Award from Scarlet Magazine. She currently has two regular magazine columns, is Contributing Editor of Cruise International Magazine and writes about travel for a number of newspapers, magazines and websites.
