Comedian Joe Pasquale has continued to delight audiences with his live stand-up tours for 20 years. Along the way he’s voiced characters for Hollywood movies Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties and Horton Hears A Who! and children’s television – Frankenstein’s Cat and starred in The Muppets’ 25th Anniversary show.
Joe made his theatrical debut in 1999 in Larry Shue’s The Nerd which prompted Time Out to describe his performance as “rib-shatteringly funny” and went on to appear in the touring productions of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead in 2004; Mel Brooks’ The Producers in 2007; The Wizard of Oz in 2010 and Doctor in the House with Robert Powell in 2012;
Added to this Joe was crowned King of the Jungle in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2004; starred in ITV’s Dancing on Ice earlier this year and has appeared on 6 Royal Variety Performances and become a mainstay of the British Pantomime season with sold out performances each and every Christmas!
Since winning I’m A Celebrity, time has not stood still for Joe Pasquale, one of the hardest working and top-selling live comedians in British comedy today. Joe followed his I’m A Celebrity win by hosting his own ITV special An Audience with Joe Pasquale, which enjoyed ratings in excess of 9 million viewers! Joe also went on to host the long-running television series The Price Is Right for ITV and at various times guest hosted the Paul O’Grady Show for Channel 4.
Over the years Joe has released many videos and DVDs from his live tours including the 1996 £1,000,000 seller Live and Squeaky which earned him a Platinum Retail Performance award from The British Video Association – a feat which was repeated in 2005 with Does He Really Talk Like That? The Live Show
Having recently qualified as a pilot and taken up boxing and running, Joe has continued to enhance his ‘action man’ credentials by competing in a celebrity edition of Total Wipeout against the likes of Fatima Whitbread and Sally Gunnell; attempted to smash the ‘most amount of martial arts throws in a minute on Guinness World Records Smashed; spent time in a Costa Rican prison for Virgin One’s ‘The Prisoner X’ documentary season and was shipped off to the jungles of Guyana for the Discovery Channel’s Alone in the Wild series, where he survived alone with a camera, in the depths of the rainforest for 5 days.
In 2013 Joe took part in ITV’s Dancing on Ice, making it through to the 6th round and continued his packed schedule with his starring role playing ‘King Arthur’ in the West End production of Spamalot. This was then followed by a Summer stand-up tour, before he then took on the role of Sherlock Holmes in the touring production Ha Ha Holmes – The Hound of the Baskervilles in the Autumn. And then finished up the year in December by starring in Sleeping Beauty at the Wolverhampton Grand.
2014 has seen Joe return again to the role of ‘King Arthur’ in the West End, as well as taking part in the ITV Live Dancing On Ice Tour. This Christmas Joe will be starring in Peter Pan at the Derngate Theatre, Northampton and will directly follow this in January by joining the ‘Spamalot’ cast on tour until mid-March 2015.
