  • Renowned Rugby Speaker
  • Entertaining After Dinner Speaker

Gareth Chilcott, more popularly known as “Cooch”, is one of the most recognisable, highly popular members of the 1980s English rugby team. As a prop forward he played for Bath Rugby Football Club, playing in excess of 400 first team games. Gareth was also an English International player between 1984-1990, coming up against Australia with the British Lions in 1989. He made his England debut against Australia in 1984.

When in full attack, Gareth's famed headband and trademark moustache, coupled with his fearsome visage, were never calculated to put his opponents at ease! Always giving the game 110 per cent, he gained respect both in Britain and abroad and he now gains the same respect for his After-Dinner presentations.

As well as being an exceptional player, Gareth is also a highly skilled performer away from the rugby field. He has a fund of amazingly funny rugby stories and these are always enjoyed by appreciative audiences at sporting and company dinners all around the country. These humorous anecdotes are combined with a motivational message to provide speeches that are sure to entertain any audience.

A born entertainer, Gareth is currently a pundit for ITV Sport and has also appeared on many other TV shows, including Casualty, They Think It's All Over and Through the Keyhole. He took part in a rugby special of Channel 4's Come Dine with Me in 2011, with Martin Offiah, Victor Ubogu and Kyran Bracken.

Gareth is an active Honorary President of the rugby charity Wooden Spoon, improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Britain and Ireland. He is also an ambassador for SOS International Rugby Board Kit Aid, which is a 'green' rugby project that gives less-advantaged children around the world a chance to play rugby in emerging nations through the collection and distribution of unused/unwanted recycled rugby kit from the UK and Ireland.
