Charlie Dimmock

  • The UK's best loved TV Gardener
  • Ground Force, Charlie's Garden Army and Daybreak
  • Flower Show Demonstrations & Personal Appearances

Charlie Dimmock is one of Britain’s best known and best loved gardeners. She hit the big time through her appearances on BBC1’s incredibly successful Ground Force, where she quickly revealed several outstanding attributes, including her extensive knowledge of plants combined with a 'down to earth' sense of humour - an alluring mix that had viewers tuning-in in their droves. At its peak, the programme had an audience of more than 12 million viewers, watching Charlie and builder Tommy Walsh revamp the gardens of people nominated by friends and family.

Ground Force ran for eight years and 12 series - BBC America even made two series and as an outcome of this States-side exposure, Charlie also had a regular gardening strand The Early Show filmed in New York for CBS.

Since Ground Force left our screens, Charlie has presented many TV programmes with gardening-related themes, such as Charlie's Garden Army (BBC2 and BBC1), in which communities across the UK were given a chance to participate in a gardening project that would benefit locals, and Charlie's River Walks, in which she walked along various rivers in Southern England, visiting landmarks and attractions along the way. Other gardening shows Charlie has presented include The Joy of Gardening (BBC2) and, in 2013, an episode of Great British Garden Revival (BBC2). In 2011, she joined ITV's Daybreak breakfast magazine show as the gardening expert.

Charlie has also presented for the BBC at the Chelsea Flower Show and the Hampton Court Flower Show. In addition, she has appeared as a guest on many shows, amongst them Ready Steady Cook, Celebrity Master Chef, The Kumars at No 42 and So Graham Norton.

Away from the TV cameras, Charlie has been a regular contributor to the Mail on Sunday and produced her own CD Rom, Charlie Dimmock’s Water Garden Designer. She has also written several books, including Enjoy Your Garden and the BBC titles Ground Force Container Gardens and Ground Force Water Garden Workbook, as well as a magazine called At Home with Charlie.

With vast experience and a loveable personality, Charlie makes the perfect candidate for your event. Whether it’s an appearance at a Garden Centre, showing your delegates how to make a hanging basket or a personal appearance, Charlie is a welcome addition to any event. Testimonials

Friday was fantastic thanks, Charlie was a great sport, and perfect for the occasion. She was amazing with all the residents, who were very excited to have her there, and really immersed herself into the true spirit of the day (despite the driving time and less-than-perfect weather).
It was great, Charlie was wonderful and the sun shone. She couldn't do enough for us and she was lovely to everyone. We all loved her so much it was sad to see her go. Thank you also for all your help, we have dealt with a lot of agencies over the years and you are definitely one of the best to work with.
