Hal Cruttenden is a comic conundrum – a cutting edge comedian who is also unashamedly suburban, obsessed with patio furniture and one-upmanship with the neighbours! Moreover, being a married man and a father does little to temper his camp delivery. Perhaps it is no wonder that Hal is, by his own admission, teetering on the edge of a mid-life crisis! The audience show their sympathy in the only way they can - through the enormous laughter his hugely entertaining act engenders!
Hal’s big breakthrough in stand-up came with his nomination for the Perrier Newcomer Award at the 2002 Edinburgh Festival for his solo show Hal. This was followed in 2003 by a highly successful run of his second show, To Hal and Back, which was also performed at the Soho Theatre in London. Today, Hal is a regular at all the top UK comedy clubs and has supported Stephen Merchant, Rob Brydon, Sean Lock, Ardal O’Hanlon and Omid Djalili on their nationwide tours.
TV appearances include Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, The Royal Variety Performance, The 11 O'Clock Show, Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You and The Rob Brydon Show.

He was absolutely brilliant and went down a storm. Thanks so much for sorting him out for us.
We’ve had some excellent feedback, he hit exactly the right note with our crowd so do pass on my thanks!
Our event was the best one we have ever done– it was very overwhelming, a truly spectacular evening.
Thank you so much for all your help with our guest speaker, as always you were a star.
Hal was absolutely brilliant – what a lovely man as well. He had us all in fits of laughter, I haven’t heard a single piece of negative feedback about him from the evening. The audience loved him, he gave everyone a really good laugh
I would be really grateful if you could pass this feedback on to Hal and thank him from us all,
Hal was fabulous. He had the audience crying with laughter. He ran the awards brilliantly and they went totally smoothly.
He went above an beyond actually, and even gave us a second set at the beginning of the awards part 2.
After his part had finished he joined us in the crew room for a few beers and regaled us with stories. It was lovely and relaxed with good chats and fans popping in and out to share their appreciation. I hope he enjoyed himself too!
Please pass on our thanks from UKSV.
