A well known and much loved presenter of TV chat shows, current affairs and lifestyle programmes, Gloria Hunniford is one of the few broadcasters who can genuinely claim to embrace the spectrum of popular culture. Her ability to communicate with people from all walks and backgrounds has earned her iconic status in the hearts and minds of the British public.
Gloria has long championed the role of the solo female presenter. In 1982, she became the first woman to have her own daily radio show on BBC Radio 2 - which she presented continuously for 13 years - and she was one of the first female broadcasters to host her own TV chat show, with the highly successful Sunday, Sunday (ITV). Other programmes she has presented or appeared on include Gloria Live, Wogan, Holiday, Songs of Praise, That's Showbusiness, Kilroy and Through The Keyhole.
More recently, Gloria has presented the consumer programmes Rip-Off Food, Rip-Off Britain and Rip-Off Britain: Holidays for BBC1. She is also a regular news reviewer for ITV1's This Morning, as well as being a reporter for BBC1's The One Show. In addition, in 2014 Gloria became a presenter (and occasionally its anchor) on the well known ITV chat show Loose Women.
Gloria has won many prestigious awards during her 40-year career in television and radio, including TV Personality of the Year, Radio Personality of the Year and Best Dressed Female.
Gloria has also fronted numerous successful promotional campaigns and is in great demand for corporate work, as an Awards Host, Presenter and After-dinner Speaker. Cruise and Maritime
We just wanted to say how thankful we were to Gloria and Stephen attending our opening yesterday. The atmosphere they created in the home was fantastic. As well as Gloria's very stunning looks, she has such a beautiful and warm character that oozes out the second you meet her. The residents at the home were so happy that she took the time to sit and talk to them. We had over 100 guests and media, the weather held up and the event was a real success. From the bottom of our hearts please thank Gloria on our behalf, there was no better person for the job.
The Laurels Nursing Home
The event went very well yesterday. Gloria was fantastic, she had some wonderful things to say about the home and staff, and the residents clearly adored her. She was chatting with all of them, and we have some great video footage of her dancing with them.
