A regular face on British TV screens for more than a decade, presenter Gethin Jones has worked on a variety of shows but is undoubtedly best known for his appearances as a co-presenter on Blue Peter from 2005 to 2008.
Gethin began his television career on Welsh language channel S4C as a presenter of children's programmes such as Popty, Mas Draw. His time on Blue Peter saw him take on the most extreme and strangest challenges of his life. He flew with the Red Arrows and in a WW2 Spitfire. He was attacked by an alligator in Louisiana, rode the highest, fastest and tallest rollercoasters in the world (he hates them!), performed the Canterville Ghost with the English National Ballet in front of 2,000 people, skated the infamous Cresta Run in St Moritz, and fought as a Samurai Warrior in Japan.
But his biggest moment was when he became the first civilian (and Blue Peter presenter) to finish the Royal Marine Commando 30 mile Yomp - he finished in a time of 8 hours 20 minutes!
Equally memorable was Gethin's dancing abilities on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing 2007, in which he reached the semi-finals. Other TV appurtenances have included presenting Police Camera Action (ITV1), Gethin Jones' Danger Hunters (Virgin1), E24 (BBC News), Sell Me The Answer (Sky1), The 21st Question (ITV1), Holding Out For a Hero (ITV1), Adventurers Guide to Britain (ITV1), Britain's Secret Treasures (ITV1), The One Show (BBC1), The National Lottery: Big 7 (BBC1), and Crime and Punishment (BBC1). He has also been a Features Reporter on ITV1's breakfast programme Daybreak. On Radio, Gethin hosted The Gethin Jones Show on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Stage performances include a week-long run in the Rocky Horror Show, acting as the Narrator, and starring in Cinderella in Guildford, playing Prince Charming (of course!).
Gethin had appeared in a number of TV adverts, and for a while was the face of Holland & Barrett, the UK's leading retailer of vitamins and mineral supplements. In addition, he is well established as a Presenter at corporate events, and is an ideal choice for Awards Hosting and Facilitating.
