Ellie Harrison

  • Co-Presents Countryfile
  • President of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust
  • Awards Host & Presenter

Ellie is a geographer, naturalist and presenter. During her early travels she worked on a farm in Zimbabwe, canoed unguided on Lake Kariba and spent many wildlife watching trips in both Zimbabwe and Canada, before returning to the UK to study. Winning a scholarship from King’s College, London, she travelled back to Zimbabwe to complete her thesis on development and elephant conservation.

Ellie’s television debut came in 2005 as a presenter on Channel 5’s Childrens’ BAFTA winning series Michaela’s Wild Challenge, undertaking unusual wildlife trials (rolling down sand dunes in a tractor inner tube, feeding sausages to moray eels, taking photos of the underside of desert elephants, are a few) in order to highlight species’ extraordinary traits. She was part of the original presenting team for The ONE Show, filming stories on the best of British wildlife. A stint living in New York saw her working on Canada’s as-live show Daily Planet for Discovery and as sole presenter on The World Without for Discovery Science in the U.S. She went onto film Wild About Your Garden on BBC1 as nominated expert on garden wildlife as well as Country Tracks for BBC1. Ellie has been in programmes such as: Delete Delete Delete, the World Sheepdog Trials on More4; Great Animal Escapes for Animal Planet; You Have Been Warned for Discovery; and The Big British Wildlife Revival for the BBC, Midsummer Live and Earth’s Treasure Map for BBC. She is a presenter on BBC1’s celebrated Sunday night programme Countryfile and appeared in Children in Need in 2017.

Ellie has written articles and given presentations on various topics including biodiversity, tonic immobility, wildlife gardening and our watery world. To book Ellie for your next event, please contact a Prime Performers Booking Agent on 020 3500 3331 to discuss your requirements.
