David Bodanis is a business consultant, speaker on science trends and industrial innovation, and writer of popular science books. Originally from Chicago, he is now based in London.
David has had several careers. As an academic, he lectured at the University of Oxford for many years, where he designed and taught the university's main survey of social studies, entitled An Intellectual Tool-Kit. As an author, he's written several best-sellers, on topics ranging from history to popular science
As a business consultant, David has worked with a number of leading firms in Europe and America. For several years, he was a technology specialist with Shell's highly respected Scenario team, and he has also worked with Microsoft's research labs, and with BMW's innovation group. His government interests include long-term energy policies for the People's Republic of China, as well as healthcare and carbon trading for several European governments.
Beyond his consultancy work, David is known for his enthusiastic, inspiring presentations, and has spoken to many business audiences on future trends and innovations.
