Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE is a leading political journalist and prominent media commentator on both TV (BBC2's Newsnight, etc.) and radio. A former politician himself, Danny is currently Associate Editor, Political Columnist and Chief Leader Writer of The Times. He also writes a highly respected blog for paper - Comment Central - a personal round up of the best political opinion on the web…not to mention a very distinctive statistics-based football review, the Fink Tank! He also pens regular columns for The Jewish Chronicle.
Danny joined The Times in 2001 and worked his way up to the leader columns to become Executive Editor. Before joining the paper, he was Director of the Conservative Party's Research Department and an adviser to both Prime Minister John Major and Conservative leader William Hague. Previous to this, he was Director of the think tank the Social Market Foundation (from 1995 to 1997). He was also the Chairman of the Policy Exchange, an independent charity seeking free market and 'localist' solutions to public policy questions. Danny was elevated to the House of Lords in August 2013.
As a prominent commentator, Danny's talks provide a sharp and entertaining insight into the political scene.
