With careers spanning over 45 years, Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball are an irrepressible British comedy duo who worked their way up from Northern working men's clubs to star in their own long-running series of TV comedy shows and sitcoms, as well as appearing as guests on all the major chat shows, collecting a string of honours along the way.
Cannon and Ball started out in show-business as singers working the pubs and clubs of Manchester, switching to comedy after being told stand-up comedians earned an extra £3 a night! National fame came to them with their TV variety show The Cannon and Ball Show, which lasted for nine years on ITV. They also appeared in their own sitcom Cannon and Balls Playhouse, as well as making a film, The Boys In Blue.
Outside of the TV and film studios, Cannon and Ball have long entertained appreciative audiences with their traditional brand of humour, particularly in that most British of shows, the pantomime – a medium where this dynamic comic duo always goes down a storm....and with thunderous applause!
Even after 45 years of making people laugh, Tommy and Bobby are still enjoying every minute and are looking forward to entertaining for many years to come!
