David Walliams Shortlisted for Prestigious Writing Award
Posted on 1 February 2013 byDavid Walliams, best known for his laugh out loud comedy writing and performances in hit TV show little Britain is enjoying fame elsewhere, as a children’s writer. Releasing his first novel in 2008 titled ‘The Boy In The Dress’, David has become a much loved and appreciated writer, with his comic experiences transferring perfectly into the children’s genre. 2013 will see David Walliams battle it out for a Red House Children’s Book Award – ‘Books For Younger Readers’ against the equally impressive talents of Elen Caldecott (Operation Eiffel Tower), and Jonathan Meres (The World of Norm: May Contain Nuts). Gangsta Granny, which was also shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize this year, provides children with excellently hysterical comedy reading published by HarperCollins Children’s Books.
