Al Murray is one of the UK’s finest character based comedians and is best known for his hilarious creation The Pub Landlord. This character struck a chord with British audiences who have often met someone just like the far-right xenophobic image The Pub Landlord represents. Al Murray is a firm favourite for those who prefer their comedy to be satirical and ironic.

Al Murray has enjoyed a long career in the stand up business and has received many awards and nominations in the field. He finally won the Perrier award in 1999 after previously being nominated on three occasions.

Murray has appeared successfully in character as The Pub Landlord on countless TV shows including Live At The Apollo, several comedy based panel shows and has hosted many of these programmes himself. One of his more recent projects Compete For The Meat was broadcast on TV Channel Dave; a very different take on the traditional quiz show format!

As well as commercial success, Al Murray is a firm favourite amongst comedy critics. He was voted the 16th greatest stand-up comic on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups and also appeared in “The Observer’s List of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy.

The real Al Murray couldn’t be further from the character he portrays; Oxford educated, Murray has presented a number of serious documentaries and is the Patron of The Cambodian Children's Charity.

Al Murray’s ability to identify with the public and to project the comedy spotlight on all elements of British society makes him perfect for light hearted corporate events or awards ceremonies.
