Antony Cotton is best known for his role as Sean Tully in Coronation Street, and as 'Alexander' in the original UK version of the hugely successful series Queer As Folk. He has also appeared in episodes of Absolutely Fabulous as 'Damon'.
Recognition came to Antony fairly early on in his TV career, with a talent that gained him the National TV Award for Most Popular Newcomer and the Inside Soap Award for Best Newcomer and Funniest Performance, these accolades being handed to him in 2005. In 2006, he again won the Inside Soap Award for Funniest Performance, and at the 2007 British Soap Awards, he was awarded the Best Actor award.
He made his film debut opposite Daniel Craig and Derek Jacobi in the film Love Is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon.He also appeared in the 1998 film, The Wisdom of Crocodiles.
Playing a popular role in Coronation Street has led to numerous appearances on other TV shows, including chat shows (he had his own chat show in 2007) and charity events. Antony took part in the eleventh series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2011, and in 2013 he won Let's Dance for Comic Relief, defeating fellow finalist Jodie Prenger.
