  • Garden Designer
  • Presents on BBC's Gardeners' World
  • Flower Show Demonstrations, Personal Appearances

Adam Frost’s love of the great outdoors was nurtured from a young age by helping out on his grandparent’s allotment. His fascination with watching plants and vegetables grow and the wildlife it attracted has stayed with him and he remains passionate about passing this on to future generations of young people.

Adam believes that creating your own outside space can have a beneficially positive effect on your health and it’s this philosophy that drives his passion for gardening – getting more people to appreciate a love of plants and the wildlife around us.

Adam is trained in horticulture and landscape design and began his professional career in the mid-1980’s with an apprenticeship at the North Devon Parks Department. He later moved to Rutland and began working with gardening great, Geoff Hamilton at Barnsdale Gardens, where he helped design and create many of the 38 small gardens which were used as locations for the BBC’s Gardeners’ World weekly broadcast and are still on show to the public today.

In 1996 Adam established his own garden design and landscape business, working with some industry heavyweights, Sir Terence Conran, David Stevens and Dan Pearson. The last 20 years have seen Adam springboard into the public eye, due to his infectious enthusiasm, vast planting knowledge and creative flair, plus his unwavering passion for getting people from all walks of life, involved in gardening.

Adam set up The Homebase Garden Academy in 2014 with the specific aim of helping Britain’s next generation of horticulture students’ kick-start their careers, by teaching them about garden design and landscaping.

Since 2007, Adam has amassed 7 gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, including a ‘Best in Show Urban Garden’ in 2008. Adam regularly lectures on a wide range of horticultural topics, both nationally and internationally for corporate, commercial and charity events. His down to earth nature makes him hugely popular at connecting with people and passing on his enthusiasm for the great outdoors. His TV appearances include the BBC’s The One Show, the Alan Titchmarsh Show, Tatton Park Flower Show, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and is a regular presenter on BBC2 Gardeners’ World. In 2016, Adam won Best New Talent at the RTS West awards for his Gardeners’ World films and is a regular contributor to horticultural magazines.

In 2015, Adam wrote and published his first book entitled ‘Real Gardens’ about his 7 Chelsea gold medal-winning designs. He is due to publish his second book next year (2018). In March 2017, Adam set up The Adam Frost Garden School run from his home in Lincolnshire, where Adam runs masterclasses on design and other gardening courses.

Adam and his wife Sulina live in a picturesque Lincolnshire village with their 4 children, 1 horse, 2 ponies, 2 dogs and an ancient cat! His 5 acre garden is regularly featured on Gardeners’ World as a work in progress!

Adam did a fantastic job at the flower show, the audience loved his speech and he was so gracious in signing autographs, having his photo taken and giving lots of valuable advice to many of our customers. He was so enthusiastic and so excited when he found a plant he'd never previously heard of! Fantastic I've no doubt we'll be having him back again.
