The king of the one liners, comedian Tim Vine is regularly listed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival's annual shortlist for the funniest jokes (he also won the Festival's Perrier Best Newcomer Award). A number of Tim's jokes have been attributed to Tommy Cooper - though Tim's not complaining. After all, assumed imitation is surely the greatest form of genuine flattery, and it works both ways - the West End show about Tommy Cooper actually features some of Tim's jokes!
At the Edinburgh Festival, Tim won the Perrier Best Newcomer Award, as well as being shortlisted for the main Perrier Award (and for Time Out's New Act Of The Year). His UK tours include Current Puns (2006), Punslinger (2008), The Joke-amotive (2010) and Tim Timinee Tim Timinee Tim Tim To You (2015), with DVDs of these being made available.
Tim's quick-fire line delivery also tickles the ribs of TV audiences through his appearances on such shows as Not Going Out (alongside fellow comedian Lee Mack), Live At The Apollo, The Des O'Connor Show, The Royal Variety Show, The Sketch Show, and The Stand Up Show. Other TV credits include Q1,Celebrity Squares, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (Celebrity Special), Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, Celebrity Juice, Pointless Celebrities, Catchphrase: Celebrity Special, Stars At Your Service, Alexander Armstrong's Big Ask, and Gadget Man.
Tim's first book, entitled The Biggest Ever Tim Vine Joke Book (published in 2010) contains over 1,000 jokes and puns. This was followed in 2011 by a second joke book, entitled The Not Quite Biggest Ever Tim Vine Joke Book, specifically for children.
A master of the one-liner and one of Britain's best fast-paced stand-up comedians, Tim Vine is an excellent choice as an After-dinner Comedian and Entertainer.
