Steve Leonard is a well-known wildlife broadcaster and one of TV's best-loved vets. As a highly popular speaker, he makes regular presentations and personal appearances at natural history festivals, corporate launches, charity lunches and dinners, as well as for educational organisations.
Steve became a television personality after being filmed in his final year at Bristol University Veterinary School for the BBC series Vets' School (1996). The programme was a huge success, and was quickly followed by Vets in Practice and then Vets in the Wild (2000-2002), which he co-presented with Trude Mostue.
Since then, Steve has gone on to present several major wildlife series for the BBC and ITV, including Steve Leonard's Ultimate Killers, Steve Leonard's Extreme Animals, Animal Camera, Orangutan Diaries, Journey of Life, Hottest Place on Earth, Incredible Animal Journeys, Safari Vet School and Animal Kingdom. In addition, Steve has also made numerous appearances on The Alan Titchmarsh Show as the show's in-house vet. And he still manages to work as a vet in his family-run veterinary practice!
Steve's adventures to far-flung places in extreme conditions, together with his enlightening experiences of animals facing adversity, ensure that his presentations inspire and awe audiences; he is an enthusiastic, empathetic and inspirational communicator and a very popular After-dinner and Motivational Speaker. He is a regular speaker for the PDSA, the Painted Dogs Conservation, Wildlife Vets International, and Dog Aid, and his series of talks for the National Geographical Society has been highly acclaimed.

“Steve was a great hit … His presentation combined his surprise and gratitude that his inclusion in ‘Vets in Practice’ should have lead to such wonderful opportunities to travel the globe, with an insight into some of the suffering that takes place in the countries he has visited and the very real threats to the world’s environment. He was by turn humorous and thought provoking and we have had terrific feedback from the members who saw him. We would warmly recommend him as a speaker. (WI)
