Andrew Marr is a high profile British journalist and television presenter, known for his authoritative countenance and charismatic wit. He currently hosts the popular BBC1 Sunday morning current affairs programme The Andrew Marr Show, following five years as Political Editor at BBC News (from May 2000 until 2005).

Andrew has also written and presented numerous series for the BBC, including Andrew Marr's History Of Modern Britain, Britain From Above, Darwin's Dangerous Idea, Andrew Marr's The Making Of Modern Britain, Megacities and Andrew Marr's History Of The World. In addition, he presented the BBC Radio 4 programme, Start The Week, from 2002 to 2013.

In 1995, Andrew was named Columnist of the Year at both the What the Papers Say Awards and the British Press Awards, having previously received the Journalist Award in the Channel 4 Political Awards of 2001. He has also received two British Academy Television Awards (BAFTAs): the BAFTA Richard Dimbleby Award in 2004 and, in 2008, the BAFTA Award for Best Specialist Factual Programme for his History of Modern Britain.

In addition to writing columns for the Daily Express and The Observer, Andrew has had seven books published: The Battle for Scotland, Ruling Britannia, The Day Britain Died, My Trade, A History of Modern Britain (2007), A History of Modern Britain part 2, and The Diamond Queen: Elizabeth II and Her People, which is based on his three-part BBC1 documentary Queen Elizabeth II, The Diamond Queen (which drew more than six million viewers per episode)

A keen supporter of charitable causes, Andrew has helped support Sense - the National Deafblind and Rubella Association, and was the face of a Sense direct marketing appeal. He was also President of the Galapagos Conservation Trust until 2013. In addition, he has supported the charity iDE UK (International Development Enterprises UK) as part of a BBC Radio 4 Appeal and subsequently became a patron.
