Monty’s personal story is one of triumph over adversity including overcoming bankruptcy and depression to the glittering career he has now. He’s incredibly engaging, charismatic and passionate about how we can all make the world a better place through reconnecting with each other.

Monty Don became the nation's most high-profile gardener when he took on the role of lead presenter of BBC’s Gardener's World. Entirely self-taught, he has been gardening since he was a child - but it was not until his late thirties that his great passion became his livelihood. Monty has presented various Channel 4 gardening programmes, and BBC’s Gardeners World, as well as a host of travel programmes.

Monty first appeared on television in 1989 on This Morning and has worked on television since, including the lead presenting role on Channel 4’s Real Gardens, Fork to Fork and Lost Gardens and he presented the BBC’s Gardeners World for five years – a position which he has once again taken up. Monty has also presented live coverage from the Chelsea, Tatton Park and Hampton Court flower shows. He has also reported on environmental developments for Tomorrow's World and, with his wife Sarah, produced a book and series about organic gardening and cooking, Fork to Fork.

Monty has also presented many travel programmes, including Around the World in 80 Gardens, My Dream Farm and Mastercraft.

Monty has published several books, including Sensuous Garden and Urban Jungle.
