Dame Kelly Holmes

Kelly Holmes

Dame Kelly is one of Britain’s most admired athletes. She has won Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European medals, and added the ultimate sporting trophy to her cabinet – Double Olympic Gold.

Kelly specialised in the 800 metres and 1500 metres events and won a gold medal for both distances at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. She set British records in numerous events and still holds the records over the 600, 800, 1000, and 1500 metres distances.

After retiring from athletics in 2006, Kelly founded the DKH Legacy Trust, a registered charity, to support young athletes and help the lives of young people across the UK. She also helped to set up the "On Camp With Kelly" athletics camps. In 2013, Kelly became the face of MoneyForce - a programme run by the Royal British Legion to deliver money advice to the UK Armed Forces. Always up for a challenge, in early 2015, she took part in the ITV series Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.

Kelly is known for her gutsy, committed approach and her ability to overcome injury and illness and still stay at the top of her discipline. Her strength and courage have won her many fans, both within the sports world and outside of it. She possesses the fundamental element for success - the ability to remain focused. This is one of the key factors in her inspirational Motivational Speeches.
