His latest role sees him in the chair that he remembers Magnus Magnusson sitting in from his days watching television as a lad. As the presenter of Mastermind, he now gets to ask questions where he already knows the answer.
2023 will see Clive publish his autobiography, Everything is Everything: A Story of Love, Hate and Hope
Clive Myrie says: ‘In 30 years as a BBC journalist reporting from all over the world, I’ve had plenty of time for reflection, and to assess who I am and what I can offer journalism. I’ve realised that my skin colour, and the sensibilities acquired living in a white dominated world, have given me an interesting perspective on a myriad of topics and issues. I want Everything is Everything to show how my own life experience as a Black man, as a victim of bigotry and racism, might afford a better idea of what it means to be an outsider, in the crosshairs of others. So my book is about the intersection of the personal and the professional and what I’ve learned. There is tough stuff, but also hope’.
