Michael McIntyre Becomes Highest Paid Comedian Thanks to Showtime Tour

Michael McIntyre has certainly enjoyed a positive start to 2013, after the previous 12 months saw his earnings rise to over £20 million from his Showtime tour alone. This figure makes him the 36th biggest selling act overall, claiming more than the likes of Aerosmith and falling marginally short of the hugely popular Rolling Stones, who raked in just over £23 million from their performances.

The Showtime tour consisted of 73 arena stops by the comedian, was enjoyed by over 639,000 people, and also sold the third highest average number of tickets per venue, valued at around £33 each. Audiences certainly received great value for their money, with McIntyre’s performances not only earning him a substantial financial feat, but also a whole host of nominations including a place in the comedy section of the Billboard Touring Awards, despite it being largely dominated by US acts. His DVD which followed his highly successful tour is touted to be an enormous success also, after spending weeks at the number one selling DVD spot, seeing off competition from the likes of Mrs Brown’s Boys.
