Nina Conti's 'Her Master's Voice' Wins Audience Award SXSW 2012

Internationally acclaimed actress, comedian and ventriloquist Nina Conti has received her much deserved recognition as her highly credited documentary, Her Master’s Voice, wins the SXGLOBAL Audience award at the South by Southwest (SXSW) awards in Austin, Texas. The festival credits a wide range of original music, independent films and emerging technologies, encouraging creative and professional growth around the world. Her Master’s Voice follows Nina as she takes the bereaved puppets of her mentor Ken Campbell on a pilgrimage to the resting place for puppets of dead ventriloquists, a place known as Vent Haven. Throughout the docu-mocumentary, she gets to know her wooden and latex travelling partners as she brings them to life and struggles to meet their often conflicting demands, which makes for for great comedy value and audience interest. Nina’s high class ventriloquist act has earned her a number of accolades due to her truly unique art form and undeniable acting talents which has seen her sell out venues in both Britain and abroad.
