Dancing On Ice 2012 Kicks Off but It's a Night to Forget For Pamela Anderson!

With another series of Dancing on Ice gracing our television screens, Pamela Anderson certainly lacked a little grace when she took to the ice on the first stage of the competition. After a brief stumble and awkward wardrobe malfunction involving an over-revealing dress, Anderson felt the wrath of the brutal judge’s vote and was the first to leave this year’s show, much to her professional dancing partner Matt Ever’s disappointment.

Pamela Anderson

Head to Head

After a fierce dance off showdown with fellow contestant Keith Chegwin, the judges concluded that Pamela’s loss of footing was enough to show her the door. To make matters worse, this isn’t the first time Pamela Anderson has been booted off in the early days of reality TV, as the American alternative of the show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ also decided she was the weakest link in the first week, and was swiftly voted off accordingly. All is not lost for the former Baywatch babe though, as it has been reported that her appearance on the show earned her an impressive £1,000 a second, part of a £150,000 deal that didn’t luckily take finishing position into account, a definite silver lining of the slightly embarrassing shenanigans.

The Show Must Go On

This Sunday will show the remaining 11 contestants battle it out to avoid elimination and be crowned champion, with a fierce line up of gymnasts, athletes and entertainers keen to ace the ice against their fellow contestants. The remaining line up is as follows…

Anthea Turner

As a TV presenter with an impressive backlog of big shows including Top of the Pops, Blue Peter and GMTV, Anthea is sure to be a crowd pleaser in the next coming weeks with her hard working, fun and friendly personality.

Beth Tweddle

Beth wowed the judges at the Olympics and bagged herself a bronze medal, and no doubt she will be hoping to go for gold on Dancing on Ice. Her background in gymnastics and vast experience is sure to make her one to watch – a definite competitive contender.

Gareth Thomas

Rugby legend Gareth may seem to lack the finesse of an ice skater, however his highly competitive attitude and loveable personality are likely to see him progress. Eager to attempt exciting new never-before-seen moves with his partner Robin Johnstone, Gareth is sure to be a crowd pleaser in the coming weeks.

Joe Pasquale

Joe is sure to add a little life and soul to the competitor’s party with his ‘funny-man’ personality and casual attitude. Although desperate to avoid wearing Lycra, the 51 year old will no doubt give it his all to please the crowd.

Keith Chegwin

Despite fracturing a shoulder last year, Keith returns to the ice to demonstrate his skating skills yet again. As an all-round entertainer, Keith is sure to continue to win the hearts of the nation and become a real hero on the show. Despite being dropped to the bottom two in the first week, we’re sure ‘Cheggers’ will come back with a bang in week two to wow us all again.

Lauren Goodger

As an original member of TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) Lauren is certainly no stranger to the glitz and glam that ice skating brings. As a keen ice skater in her youth, Lauren will definitely bring a touch of experience and her bubbly personality onto the ice to win over both the audience and the judges.

Luke Campbell

As yet another medallist at London 2012, Luke will be hoping to go for gold yet again in Dancing on Ice, applying his grit and determination to skating rather than boxing. With a solid routine accompanied by Jenna Smith, Luke’s avoided a first round knockout, and will be looking to continue his fine form throughout the competition.

Matt Lapinskas

With a not so secret passion for dance, Matt’s cheeky personality and love for a touch of sparkle are sure to make him a hit with the audience and judges. Hoping to sneak in a body pop or two, Lapinskas is sure to add some fun to his routines with Canadian partner Brianne Delcourt.

Oona King

Eager to surprise viewers with her down to earth personality, House of Lords member Oona King is determined to show her fun side on the show. She’s keen to learn as much as possible, so her routines will no doubt be daring and exciting, a definite candidate to keep an eye on.

Samie Ghadie

Swapping the cobbled streets of Weatherfield for the rink at Dancing on Ice, Samie brings a loyal army of Corrie followers who are sure to make her a strong contender for the DOI crown. This superstitious character is keen to impress friends, family and fans with some impressive routine and sparkly costume choices.

Shayne Ward

Becoming an instant hit with the ladies, Shayne’s performance, although mediocre, was certainly made special with the addition of his leather trousers. Stating Dancing on Ice is his biggest challenge yet, Shayne is keen to impress and train hard to impress the judges. With those dashing good looks and a touch of Irish charm, Shayne is sure to be a popular figure in the show.
