Benedict Allen is one of the world's leading adventurer-explorers. His expeditions are conducted without modern conveniences such as a phone, global positioning system or even a film crew; instead, he explores alone, filming his arduous treks through harsh terrains to establish contact with remote indigenous communities.
His ventures include a number of firsts: he is the only person known to have crossed the Amazon Basin at its widest point; he conducted the first documented journey over the entire length of the Namib desert; and he is the only person known to have crossed the full width of the Gobi desert with camels alone. These adventures are depicted in six BBC TV series, as well as other groundbreaking series for National Geographic TV, The History Channel and Channel Five. He has also written ten books about his expeditions, including two best sellers.
In 2010, Benedict became a Trustee and Member of Council of the Royal Geographical Society.
Benedict's skills and determination as an explorer are drawn upon to inspire audiences through outstanding motivational speeches. If you are interested in booking Benedict, please contact a Booking Agent at Prime Performers on 020 7251 8222 to discuss your requirements.
